Terms of Service

Plaice is an AI-powered property intelligence platform that helps homebuyers, homeowners, renters, and real estate professionals understand the condition, history, and maintenance needs of residential properties. By uploading photos of rooms, appliances, or specific issues, users receive AI-generated assessments including condition ratings, fixture identification, estimated repair costs, and maintenance recommendations.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Plaice at getplaice.com and any associated mobile or web applications (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Plaice.

Our AI assesses photos only and cannot detect issues that are not visible in the images provided (e.g., structural problems behind walls, underground plumbing issues, roof conditions not photographed, or electrical issues inside panels). AI-generated findings may be incomplete, inaccurate, or miss serious defects entirely.

Before making any real estate purchase decision, undertaking significant repairs, or relying on property condition data for financial purposes, you should engage a licensed home inspector, structural engineer, or relevant licensed professional to conduct a physical inspection. Plaice is a supplementary tool — not a replacement for professional due diligence.

Repair cost estimates are approximate regional averages provided for informational purposes only. Actual costs will vary by location, contractor, scope, and market conditions.

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
• One person may not create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or free trial restrictions.

When using Plaice, you agree not to:

• Upload photos or content you do not own or have permission to use
• Use the Service to assess properties you do not have permission to inspect
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying AI models or analysis logic
• Use automated scripts, bots, or bulk upload tools without written authorization
• Share your account credentials with others or resell access to the Service
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to bypass rate limits or other access controls (e.g., by rotating IP addresses to circumvent the anonymous scan limit)

Free plan

Free accounts include a limited number of AI scans per month and access to basic property tracking features. Free accounts do not include the AI Maintenance Coach, proactive maintenance alerts, or the Professional Report feature.

Professional plans for real estate agents, brokers, and inspectors are available by contacting us at legal@getplaice.com.

Plaice reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable subscription fee. All prices are in USD.

Annual subscriptions are charged upfront for the full year. We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new annual subscribers. If you are unsatisfied within 7 days of your initial purchase, contact legal@getplaice.com for a full refund. After 7 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable.

Taxes may apply depending on your jurisdiction and will be added at checkout where required.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard settings or by contacting legal@getplaice.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until the period ends.

After cancellation, your account reverts to the free plan. Your property data, scan history, and vault items are retained unless you delete your account.

Plaice and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Plaice, Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

You retain ownership of any photos you upload. By uploading photos, you grant Plaice a limited, non-exclusive license to process those photos through our AI analysis pipeline and store the results for your account. We do not sell or transfer your photos to third parties.

AI-generated analysis results (scores, findings, recommendations) produced for your account are available to you for personal and professional use.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Plaice does not warrant that:

• AI analysis results will be accurate, complete, or error-free
• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or available at all times
• Any specific defect or hazard will be detected by the AI analysis
• Repair cost estimates will match actual costs in your market

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plaice, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to property damage, financial loss, or decisions made in reliance on AI analysis results.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Plaice in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect for existing subscribers. Continued use of Plaice after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in California.
